A peptide intentionally modified relative to a reference peptide or sequence. Substitutions, additions or other structural changes can produce a distinct research compound with different measured properties.
A portion of a longer peptide or protein sequence. A fragment may be produced synthetically or derived experimentally, and it should be identified by its own stated sequence and characteristics.
The ordered arrangement of amino-acid residues in a peptide or protein. Sequence order is central to molecular identity; shared residues or partial similarity do not make two sequences equivalent.

A protein produced by cells or another biological expression system using introduced genetic instructions. This production route differs from chemical peptide synthesis and may involve additional structural characteristics.
A broad descriptive term for a substance studied under controlled laboratory conditions. It does not define one molecular class, production method, quality attribute or intended conclusion by itself.
Material presented as one named molecular compound rather than a formulated combination of named compounds. The term does not, on its own, establish identity, purity or net content.
A prepared combination containing two or more named peptide research compounds. Each component and the combined material require clear composition, identification and batch-documentation context.
Two materials may both be called peptides, analogues or fragments while differing in amino-acid sequence, chain length, molecular structure, production method or composition. A shared category describes a broad relationship; it does not establish that the compounds have the same identity or experimental characteristics.
Laboratory interpretation should therefore use the exact compound name, stated sequence, component list and batch-specific analytical documentation. Similar names, overlapping sequence regions or membership in the same terminology category should not be treated as evidence that materials can be substituted for one another.
